Schools' Support Training & Hub

Through consultation with our wider educational and childcare community, we have identified a lack of trauma informed support for professionals and families in our county and beyond. We will be launching a schools' support hub to meet the needs of our local school cluster, and the families we jointly work with. It will be a unique offering where we explore the value of outdoor learning and animal therapy, interwoven with a trauma informed and therapeutic approach to academic education, childcare and parenting.

Wickselm House Trauma Informed Support Hub has an ethos of multi-agency collaboration drawing on the principles of co-production with children's outcomes at the centre of all decision making and training programmes.

We will be connecting with leading experts in child trauma and education to host training events, and offering regular networking and support sessions for teachers, childcare professionals, social care workers along with tailored training and support sessions for parents and carers.

We offer unique and bespoke tailored in-house trauma informed approach & behaviour support training delivered by Wickselm House lead practitioners, including Hannah O'Brien founder and CEO and co author of 'The A-Z of Trauma Informed Teaching'. Hannah has over twenty years' experience in supporting young people with complex SEMH needs. Since 2021 she and the team at Wickselm House have worked collaboratively with UK Local Authorities, maintained and non-maintained schools and families to find and implement strategies to support children, with emotional and behavioural challenges into full-time education.

Our in-house training is designed to empower teaching staff and childcare professionals to understand their own needs, the needs of vulnerable children and the opportunities and limitations within their own working environment.

Training is structured with face-to-face workshops and advice tailored to the needs and resources within your setting.

All training is followed up with two flexible blocks of Teams-based feedback and further advice.

This approach is designed to create and embed successful interventions which last and grow.
